Abstract[English]
The present disclosure provides a process for producing borate crystals and the resultant granular borate composition formed from the process. In an embodiment, the process includes (a) providing an aqueous solution comprising from 3 wt% to 6 wt% of boron in a reaction vessel, and (b) heating the aqueous solution to a high temperature from 70°C to 90°C. The process includes (c) seeding, at the high temperature, the aqueous solution with one or more particles of a borate to form a seeded solution, (d) cooling the seeded solution at a rate from 0.1°C/hr to 4°C/hr to a low temperature that is from 4°C to 10°C less than the high temperature and forming borate crystals in the seeded solution, (e) repeating steps (a)-(d) at least once, and (f) forming wet borate crystals having a particle size from 18 U.S. mesh to 4 U.S. mesh.[French]
