Abstract[English]
A method for obtaining lithium metal from the direct recycling of a spent cathode element of a lithium-ion battery is disclosed. The method includes electrochemically extracting lithium contained in a spent cathode element that is situated in a lithium salt solution of an electrochemical cell and increasing a voltage to the spent cathode element to compel the electrochemical deposition of the lithium metal from the spent cathode element to an anode substrate element via the lithium salt solution. The method optionally includes calendaring the lithium metal deposited on a surface of the anode substrate element such that the lithium metal on the surface of the anode substrate element is compressed and flattened.[French]
Un procédé d'obtention de lithium métallique à partir du recyclage direct d'un élément de cathode usé d'une batterie au lithium-ion est divulgué. Le procédé comprend l'extraction électrochimique du lithium contenu dans un élément de cathode usé qui est situé dans une solution de sel de lithium d'une cellule électrochimique et l'augmentation d'une tension vers l'élément de cathode usé pour achever le dépôt électrochimique du métal de lithium de l'élément de cathode usé à un élément de substrat d'anode par l'intermédiaire de la solution de sel de lithium.
