Abstract[English]
Assemblies and methods for fixation of bone or bone fragments using an orthopedic plate having a slot that causes the bone or bone fragments to compress as a screw is inserted into the slot and rotated therein. By anchoring the orthopedic plate to a first bone or bone fragment and rotating the screw into the second bone or bone fragment at an angle that may be up to approximately fifteen degrees from perpendicular to the top surface of the orthopedic plate, the screw head causes the orthopedic plate to traverse away from the first screw thereby causing the first bone or bone fragment to be drawn toward and/or compress with the second bone or bone fragment.[French]
Des ensembles et des procédés de fixation d'os ou de fragments osseux à l'aide d'une plaque orthopédique pourvue d'une fente, qui entraîne la compression de l'os ou des fragments osseux au fur et à mesure de l'insertion d'une vis dans la fente et de sa mise en rotation dans cette dernière. Par ancrage de la plaque orthopédique à un premier os ou fragment osseux et par rotation de la vis dans le deuxième os ou fragment osseux à un angle approximativement de quinze degrés maximum par rapport à la perpendiculaire à la surface supérieure de la plaque orthopédique, la tête de vis amène la plaque orthopédique à s'éloigner de la première vis, amenant ainsi le premier os ou fragment osseux à se rapprocher du et/ou se plaquer contre le deuxième os ou fragment osseux.
