Abstract[English]
This patent provides a novel set of stereoscopic imaging techniques. Such techniques allow extremely large field of view datasets capable of stereoscopic display, such as greater than 270° horizontal field of view and 180° vertical field of view. Thus, it is possible to record data in a way that is larger than a user could visualize. A user can thus select which subset of the dataset he/she wants to view. Then, allow the user to view naturally via head tracking and eye tracking to allow one to see and inspect a scene as if one were naturally there viewing it in real time.[French]
Ce brevet concerne un nouvel ensemble de techniques d'imagerie stéréoscopique. De telles techniques permettent un grand champ de données de vue capable d'un affichage stéréoscopique, tel qu'un champ de vision horizontal supérieur à 270° et un champ de vision vertical de 180°. Ainsi, il est possible d'enregistrer des données d'une manière qui est plus grande qu'un utilisateur pourrait visualiser. Un utilisateur peut ainsi sélectionner quel sous-ensemble de l'ensemble de données qu'il souhaite visualiser. L'invention consiste en outre à permettre à l'utilisateur de réaliser une visualisation naturelle par le biais du suivi de la tête et du suivi de l'œil pour lui permettre de regarder et d'inspecter une scène comme s'il la regardait naturellement en temps réel.
