Abstract[English]
In some embodiments, an optical device includes a bulk silicone hydrogel material having a convex anterior surface and an opposite concave posterior surface, a central optical zone, and one or more peripheral zones circumscribing the central optical zone. The contact lens includes an insert embedded in the bulk silicone hydrogel material having a convex anterior surface and an opposite concave posterior surface, the convex anterior surface comprising 10 or more echelettes. The optical device has a convex anterior surface and an opposite concave posterior surface. The insert includes a crosslinked silicone-containing vinyl copolymer different from a crosslinked silicone-containing vinyl copolymer of the bulk silicone hydrogel material and has a diameter up to about 10 mm.
