Abstract[English] Disclosed herein are methods for synthesis of branched ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). Such polymers can be used for solid state processing into an article, such as tapes, films, and ropes, etc., with improved mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength, high tensile modulus, and exceptional creep resistance even at higher temperatures, closer to the melting point of the as synthesized polymer.[French] L'invention concerne des procédés de synthèse de polyéthylène ramifié à très haute masse moléculaire (UHMWPE). De tels polymères peuvent être utilisés pour la mise en œuvre à l'état solide en un article, tel que des rubans, des films et des cordes, etc., présentant des propriétés mécaniques améliorées, telles qu'une résistance à la traction élevée, un module de traction élevé et une résistance au fluage exceptionnelle, même à des températures plus élevées, proches du point de fusion du polymère tel que synthétisé.
