Abstract[English]
Mitral valve regurgitation can be ameliorated by creating one passageway between the right atrium and the left ventricle at a portion of the tricuspid annulus that is directly above the interventricular septum and creating another passageway through an outer wall of the left ventricle near at least one of the left-ventricular papillary muscles. A non-elongated support member is positioned within the right atrium in contact with a septal portion of the tricuspid annulus, and a support plate is positioned against the outer wall of the left ventricle adjacent to the second passageway. The support plate is pulled towards the non-elongated support member using a tether under tension that runs between the first support plate and the non-elongated support member and passes through both passageways. And the tension in the tether moves the roots of the chordae closer to the mitral valve, which ameliorates the mitral valve regurgitation.[French]
Selon l'invention, la régurgitation mitrale peut être améliorée en créant un passage entre l'atrium droit et le ventricule gauche dans une partie de l'anneau tricuspide qui se trouve directement au-dessus du septum interventriculaire et en créant un autre passage à travers la paroi externe du ventricule gauche près d'au moins un des muscles papillaires du ventricule gauche.
