Abstract[English]
In one aspect, a collagenous lenticule for use in intrastromal implantation is disclosed, which includes a decellularized lenticular body derived from a corneal donor source having an anterior surface and a posterior surface, where the decellularized lenticular body includes collagen fibers distributed therein such that the lenticular body exhibits birefringence to visible light and further exhibits sufficient optical clarity for intrastromal implantation. A lenticule according to the present teachings can be implanted in a patient's stromal layer to correct a refractive error of the eye, such as presbyopia.[French]
Selon un aspect, l'invention concerne un lenticule collagène destiné à être utilisé dans une implantation intrastromale, lequel comprend un corps lenticulaire décellularisé dérivé d'une source de don de cornée présentant une surface antérieure et une surface postérieure, le corps lenticulaire décellularisé comprenant des fibres de collagène réparties dans celui-ci de telle sorte que le corps lenticulaire présente une biréfringence à la lumière visible et présente en outre une clarté optique suffisante pour une implantation intrastromale. Un lenticule selon la présente invention peut être implanté dans la couche stromale d'un patient pour corriger une erreur de réfraction de l'oeil, telle que la presbytie.
