Abstract[English]
A combination yarn having the ability to provide protection from ultraviolet light while also having good hand feel, colorfastness, moisture management properties, along with sufficiently high tenacity and sufficiently low stretch for use in commercial knitting machines is disclosed, along with fabrics including the combination yarn and methods of making the yarn and fabrics. The combination yarn includes a first yarn and a second yarn. Both the first yarn and the second yarn include fine denier fibers or filaments, such as fibers or filaments having an average liner mass density per fiber or filament of 1 denier per fiber or filament or less. A ratio of the total average denier per filament of the combination yarn divided by the total average weight percent of titanium dioxide in the combination yarn is 0.4 or less.[French]
