Abstract[English]
Disclosed are methods for increasing a patient's levels of vitamin D through transdermal administration of cholecalciferol. The patient may be identified as being at risk of calcidiol accumulation, such as having chronic kidney disease or being at risk of developing chronic kidney disease. The patient is administered a transdermal formulation of cholecalciferol. The transdermal formulation beneficially increases serum calcitriol in the patient without disproportionally accumulating serum calcidiol.[French]
