An apparatus including at least one processor; and at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform: determining a current block; and producing an intra-prediction for the current block using at least one decoder-side intra mode derivation process. The at least one decoder-side intra mode derivation process includes determining a histogram of gradients based on first reconstructed samples of a main template region in a surrounding of the current block. The determining of the histogram of gradients includes analyzing reconstructed samples of a second template region includes second reconstructed samples, where at least one of the second reconstructed samples is not part of the main template region.[French]
L'invention concerne un appareil comprenant au moins un processeur; et au moins une mémoire stockant des instructions qui, lorsqu'elles sont exécutées par ledit processeur, amènent l'appareil à au moins : déterminer un bloc actuel; et produire une prédiction intra pour le bloc actuel en utilisant au moins un processus de dérivation de mode intra côté décodeur. Ledit processus de dérivation de mode intra côté décodeur consistent à déterminer un histogramme de gradients sur la base des premiers échantillons reconstruits d'une région de modèle principale dans un environnement du bloc actuel.
