Abstract[English]
Described herein are long-acting injectable formulations for the treatment or prevention of a parasitic infestation or infection in an animal. The formulation contains a parasiticidal isoxazoline active agent; and castor oil or a combination of castor oil and a second natural oil. The amount of castor oil in the formulation or the combination of castor oil and the second natural oil is at least 40% (w/w). The formulation can be in the form of a solution or a suspension, and physically stable at standard ambient temperature and pressure for at least 1 month. Typically, the formulation is at least 80% effective at treating or preventing infestation by fleas and/or ticks for at least 6 months following a single administration to the animal.[French]
Sont divulguées des formulations injectables à action prolongée pour le traitement ou la prévention d'une infestation ou d'une infection parasitaire chez un animal. La formulation contient un principe actif d'isoxazoline parasiticide ; et de l'huile de ricin ou une combinaison d'huile de ricin et d'une deuxième huile naturelle. La quantité d'huile de ricin dans la formulation ou dans la combinaison d'huile de ricin et de deuxième huile naturelle est d'au moins 40 % (p/p). La formulation peut se présenter sous la forme d'une solution ou d'une suspension, et est physiquement stable à température et pression ambiantes standard pendant au moins 1 mois.
