A method performed by an apparatus of a communication network is provided. The method includes receiving a first service request for a service related to ambient Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the first service request comprising a timeout period associated with messages from the ambient IoT devices. The method includes determining, for the ambient IoT devices, value(s) for parameter(s) based on at least the timeout period. In this regard, the parameter(s) quantifies a size of an interval within which a back-off time for retransmission of a message is to be determined. And the method includes sending, towards the ambient IoT devices, a second service request for the service, the second service request comprising the value(s) for the parameter(s) that quantifies the size of the interval to be used for medium access control between the ambient IoT devices and the reader device.[French]
L'invention concerne un procédé mis en œuvre par un appareil d'un réseau de communication. Le procédé consiste à recevoir une première demande de service pour un service associé à des dispositifs de l'Internet des Objets (IdO) ambiant, la première demande de service comprenant une période de temporisation associée à des messages provenant des dispositifs IdO ambiant. Le procédé consiste à déterminer, pour les dispositifs IdO ambiant, une ou plusieurs valeurs pour un ou plusieurs paramètres sur la base d'au moins la période de temporisation. À cet égard, le ou les paramètres quantifient une taille d'un intervalle à l'intérieur duquel un temps de réduction de puissance pour la retransmission d'un message doit être déterminé.
