Abstract[English]
A biomedical apparatus (100) for implantation within a living body is disclosed. The biomedical apparatus (100) includes an electrode (120) and an electronic device (104) configured to transmit electrical signals to a portion of the living body through the electrode (120). The biomedical apparatus (100) further includes a monolithic diamond casing (124) for housing and hermetically sealing the electronic device (104) therewithin. The monolithic diamond casing (124) includes a first portion (128) defining an encapsulating layer (122) around the electrode (120). The first portion (128) is configured to define an electrical path between the electrode (120) and the portion of the living body. The monolithic diamond casing (124) further includes a second portion (132) enwrapping the electronic device (104) and being integral and seamlessly contiguous to the first portion (128), the second portion (132) defining one or more heat dissipation structures (126) to dissipate heat generated from the electronic device (104) away from the monolithic diamond casing (124).[French]
