Disclosed are methods of increasing survival of a subject comprising applying alternating electric fields, at a frequency for a period of time, to a target site of the subject in need thereof; and administering one or more cholesterol lowering drugs to the subject in need thereof. Disclosed are methods of increasing longevity of treatment with alternating electric field in a subject comprising applying alternating electric fields, at a frequency for a period of time, to a target site of the subject in need thereof; and administering one or more cholesterol lowering drugs to the subject in need thereof. Disclosed are methods of increasing efficacy of alternating electric fields in a cell comprising applying alternating electric fields, at a frequency for a period of time, to a cell; and contacting one or more cholesterol lowering drugs to the cell, thereby increasing efficacy of the alternating electric fields.[French]
