Partial user plane protection in a mobile network (101). In an embodiment, a session management function (214) determines a user plane security policy (1220) for a packet data unit session (830) of user equipment (106). The user plane security policy includes user plane security parameters (1422) that specify at least one of an integrity protection portion (1524) of a user plane packet (822) to be integrity protected and an encryption portion (1526) of the user plane packet to be encrypted. The session management function provides the user plane security policy to a radio access network node (800) that serves the user equipment, indicating the user plane security parameters.[French]
