Abstract[English]
The present invention provides devices, systems, and methods for treating a mental disease or disorder. In particular, the invention recognizes that certain light therapy can induce an electrical effect in the brain that replicates the effect of some pharmaceutical compounds without the associated side effects. The invention provides for treating mental diseases and/or disorders using light of a defined waveform and pulse frequency to effectuate electrical activity in the brain. This electrical activity activates microglia cells in the brain to target perineuronal net (PNN) structures in the brain.[French]
La présente invention concerne des dispositifs, des systèmes et des méthodes de traitement d'une maladie ou d'un trouble mental. En particulier, l'invention reconnaît que certaines formes de luminothérapie peuvent induire un effet électrique dans le cerveau, qui reproduit l'effet de certains composés pharmaceutiques sans les effets secondaires associés. L'invention concerne le traitement de maladies et/ou de troubles mentaux à l'aide d'une lumière d'une forme d'onde et d'une fréquence d'impulsion définies, afin de réaliser une activité électrique dans le cerveau. Cette activité électrique active les cellules de la microglie dans le cerveau pour cibler des structures de filets périneuronaux (PNN) dans le cerveau.
