Abstract[English] A method for generating hydrogen while depositing carbon material on sand includes inputting (1100) sand grains (310, 316) into a reaction chamber (210), wherein the sand grains (310, 316) are either natural sand grains (310) that include a natural metal containing substance (312) or enhanced sand (316) that includes an added metal containing substance (314); inputting (1102) a carbon source (214) into the reaction chamber (210) to react with the sand grains (310, 316); controlling (1104) a temperature inside the reaction chamber (210) to achieve catalytic decomposition of the carbon source (214), which results in generation of hydrogen (222) and solid carbon (224), which grows on the sand grains (310, 316) to form carbonaceous treated sand (420); and collecting (1106) the hydrogen (222) outside the reaction chamber (210).[French] Un procédé de génération d'hydrogène et de dépôt simultané d'un matériau carboné sur du sable consiste à entrer (1100) des grains de sable (310, 316) dans une chambre de réaction (210), les grains de sable (310, 316) étant soit des grains de sable naturel (310) qui comprennent une substance contenant du métal naturel (312), soit du sable amélioré (316) qui comprend une substance contenant un métal ajouté (314) ; à entrer (1102) une source de carbone (214) dans la chambre de réaction (210) pour réagir avec les grains de sable (310, 316) ; à commander (1104) une température à l'intérieur de la chambre de réaction (210) pour obtenir une décomposition catalytique de la source de carbone (214), ce qui entraîne la génération d'hydrogène (222) et de carbone solide (224), qui croît sur les grains de sable (310, 316) pour former du sable traité carboné (420) ; et à collecter (1106) l'hydrogène (222) à l'extérieur de la chambre de réaction (210).
