Abstract[English] Invention relates to photoswitchable azobenzene-based compounds, particularly to azobenzene-based compounds that allows light-triggered modulation of the cell-cell adhesion family of proteins called cadherins and their use in the treatment of cancer and other diseases. We have discovered photoswitchable compounds that are active at < 100 μM concentration on BxPC-3 cells expressing E-cadherin and P-cadherin. These novel compounds can be used for manufacturing of various pharmaceutical compositions, wherein they are present together with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable diluents, carriers or excipients.[French] L'invention concerne des composés photocommutables à base d'azobenzène, en particulier des composés à base d'azobenzène qui permettent une modulation déclenchée par la lumière de la famille d'adhérence cellule-cellule de protéines appelées cadhérines et leur utilisation dans le traitement du cancer et d'autres maladies. Nous avons découvert des composés photocommutables qui sont actifs à une concentration < 100 μΜ sur des cellules BxPC -3 exprimant l'E-cadhérine et la P-cadhérine. Ces nouveaux composés peuvent être utilisés pour la préparation de diverses compositions pharmaceutiques, dans lesquelles ils sont présents conjointement avec un ou plusieurs diluants, supports ou excipients pharmaceutiquement acceptables.
