Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to receiving (1102) a configuration that indicates a plurality of carriers for sidelink (SL) communication and tracking (1104) a number of consecutive discontinuous transmission (DTX) instances for each SL carrier of the plurality of carriers. Aspects of the present disclosure may relate to determining (1106) a carrier failure condition for a respective SL carrier based at least in part on a tracked number of consecutive DTX instances satisfying a threshold and transmitting (1108) a notification to a base station, the notification indicating the carrier failure condition for the respective SL carrier.[French]
