Abstract[English]
A printing system (1400, 1500) is disclosed for printing of a three-dimensional (3D) object by superposition of compacted layers. The system comprises: a) a transport mechanism (12, 630) comprising a movable carrier (600) adapted to displace a backing surface (10, 620) along a direction of travel; b) an adhesive application module (14, 30, 700, 1000) adapted to render tacky desired foreground regions of the backing surface, or of a compacted layer previously formed thereon; c) a first dispensing module (16, 34, 2000) for applying model particles to adhere selectively to the regions rendered tacky; d) a second dispensing module (20, 38, 740, 2000) for applying a support material to coat at least regions of the backing surface, or of a compacted layer previously formed thereon, not coated with the model particles; and e) at least one compacting module (40, 42, 3000) for compressing the model particles and/or the support material to form thereon a compacted layer or a part thereof; the transport mechanism serving to displace the movable carrier to pass cyclically through the adhesive application, dispensing and compacting modules so as to form superposed compacted layers on the movable carrier. Methods for 3D printing using such systems and components thereof, as well as suitable compositions are also described.[French]
L'invention divulgue un système d'impression (1400, 1500) pour l'impression d'un objet tridimensionnel (3D) par la superposition de couches compactées. Le système comprend : a) un mécanisme de transport (12, 630) comprenant un chariot mobile (600) conçu pour déplacer une surface d'appui (10, 620) le long d'une direction de circulation; b) un module d'application d'adhésif (14, 30, 700, 1000) conçu pour rendre collantes des régions d'avant-plan souhaitées de la surface d'appui, ou d'une couche compactée précédemment formée sur celle-ci; c) un premier module de distribution (16, 34, 2000) pour l'application de particules modèles afin d'adhérer sélectivement aux régions rendues collantes; d) un second module de distribution (20, 38, 740, 2000) pour l'application d'un matériau de support afin de revêtir au moins des régions de la surface d'appui, ou d'une couche compactée précédemment formée sur celle-ci, non revêtue avec les particules modèles; et e) au moins un module de compactage (40, 42, 3000) pour la compression des particules modèles et/ou du matériau de support afin de former sur ceux-ci une couche compactée ou une partie de celle-ci; le mécanisme de transport servant à déplacer le chariot mobile afin de passer de manière cyclique à travers les modules d'application d'adhésif, de distribution et de compactage de façon à former des couches compactées superposées sur le chariot mobile. L'invention décrit également des procédés d'impression 3D à l'aide de tels systèmes et des composants de ceux-ci, ainsi que des compositions appropriées.
