The present disclosure relates to the use of FAM19A5 antagonists (e.g., anti-FAM19A5 antibody or LRRC4 family mimic molecules) to treat a wide range of hearing disorders. The present disclosure also provides methods of using such antagonists to enhance one or more properties of ribbon synapses.[French]
