Abstract[English] An ultrasonic handpiece includes a piezoelectric element assembly. Control signals drive the piezoelectric element assembly simultaneously in a first mode of oscillation and a second mode of oscillation. Feedback of a resulting oscillation of the piezoelectric element assembly in the first mode and the second mode is generated. Based on the feedback, the frequency of each of the first mode and second mode is independently adjusted, as needed, so that the resulting oscillation of each of the first mode and the second mode is each approximately at its respective resonant frequency.[French] Une pièce à main à ultrasons comporte un ensemble élément piézoélectrique. Des signaux de commande entraînent l’ensemble élément piézoélectrique simultanément dans un premier mode d’oscillation et un second mode d’oscillation. Une rétroaction d’une oscillation résultante de l’ensemble élément piézoélectrique dans le premier mode et le second mode est générée. Sur la base de la rétroaction, la fréquence de chacun du premier mode et du second mode est réglée indépendamment, selon les besoins, de telle sorte que l’oscillation résultante de chacun du premier mode et du second mode est chaque fois approximativement à sa fréquence de résonance respective.
