Abstract[English]
An apparatus (1300) for identifying precious stones and man-made stones is disclosed. The apparatus (1300) includes a handheld case (2a) with a probe (4a), a heating element (24), a thermistor (25), an ultra-violet (UV) light emitting diode (LED) source (19), an optical fiber (23), an optical fiber bundle (59), an optical detector (52), a microcontroller (36), and a visual indicator (6a). The probe includes a copper tube with an optical fiber and a tip for contacting the stone under test. The heating element heats the copper tube. The thermistor senses a temperature of the copper tube. The UV LED source emits UV light through the optical fiber bundle to illuminate the stone, and the optical detector measures the reflected light. The microcontroller determines the electrical, thermal, and optical properties of the stone. The microcontroller identifies the type of stone, and the visual indicator displays the result.[French]
L'invention concerne un appareil (1300) permettant d'identifier des pierres précieuses et des pierres synthétiques.
