Abstract[English]
A dissolvable medical device for placing on the outer exposed surface of the eye to deliver a drug to the eye comprising: a polymeric film has sufficient dimensions to substantially cover a cornea when applied to an eye, wherein the polymeric film comprising one or more mucoadhesive polymers. The polymeric film dissolves between 15 minutes to 120 minutes to release the mucoadhesive and the pharmaceutically active agents after applying the polymeric film to the eye. The dissolved polymeric film is not impeding visualization of ocular tissue while maintaining a protective film on outer surface of the eye.[French]
L'invention concerne un dispositif médical soluble destiné à être placé sur la surface extérieure exposée de l'œil pour administrer un médicament à l'œil, comprenant : un film polymère ayant des dimensions suffisantes pour recouvrir sensiblement une cornée lorsqu'il est appliqué sur un œil, le film polymère comprenant un ou plusieurs polymères muco-adhésifs. Le film polymère se dissout entre 15 minutes et 120 minutes pour libérer l'agent muco-adhésif et l'agent pharmaceutiquement actif après application du film polymère sur l'œil. Le film polymère dissous n'empêche pas la visualisation du tissu oculaire tout en conservant un film protecteur sur la surface extérieure de l'œil.
