Abstract[German] Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Schmalflächenbeschichtung von, vorzugsweise rechteckigen, Plattenelementen, insbesondere Möbelplatten, Holzwerkstoffplatten, Arbeitsplatten, Spanplatten, Leichtbauplatten, Innenausbauplatten, Türen, Faserzementplatten oder dergleichen, - wobei die Schmalflächenbeschichtung zumindest teilweise mittels Kantenbandprofilen erfolgt, die einen aus B-Material, beispielsweise aus Recyclingmaterial, bestehenden Leistenkern aufweisen, und - wobei der Leistenkern im Profilquerschnitt gesehen zumindest außenseitig an seiner die Schmalfläche abdeckenden Längsseite sowie an mindestens einer, vorzugsweise spanend, nachzubearbeitenden Querseite mit polymerem A- Material bedeckt ist, welches sich dadurch auszeichnet, dass die zwei an dem Plattenelement einander gegenüberliegend befestigten Kantenbandprofile, welche in den Stoßbereichen an den Ecken des Plattenelementes die beiden anderen Kantenbandprofile jeweils überdecken, zumindest in den Stoßbereichen lediglich aus A-Material bestehen.
