Die Erfindung betrifft ein Haushaltsgargerät (1), aufweisend einen Garraum (2), einen dem Garraum zugeordneten Umluftlüfter (3), der mit einem mit einer Motorelektronik (6) ausgerüsteten Umluftmotor (4) ausgerüstet ist, und eine Steuereinrichtung (7) zum Steuern eines Betriebs des Haushaltsgargeräts, wobei der Umluftmotor (4) mittels der Motorelektronik (6) auf eine Soll-Drehzahl einregelbar ist, eine durch den Umluftmotor aufgenommene elektrische Leistung überwachbar ist, aus der aufgenommenen Leistung ein Feuchtigkeitsgrad in dem Garraum (2) berechenbar ist und die Steuereinrichtung dazu eingerichtet ist, mindestens einen Betriebsablauf des Haushaltsgargeräts beruhend auf dem berechneten Feuchtigkeitsgrad zu steuern, wobei ferner die Motorelektronik (6) dazu eingerichtet ist, eine Motorspannung (U) und einen Motorstrom (I) des Umluftmotors (4) zu überwachen und daraus die Leistung zu berechnen und zumindest die überwachten Werte der Leistung über eine digitale Datenschnittstelle an die Steuereinrichtung (7) übertragbar sind. Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein entsprechendes Verfahren. Die Erfindung ist besonders vorteilhaft anwendbar auf Backöfen und/oder Dampfgarer.[English]
