Die Erfindung schafft ein Konzept zur Bewältigung eines Fehlerfalls für eine Vollbrückenschaltung zur Ansteuerung einer elektrischen Maschine. Hierzu ist es vorgesehen, für den Fall, dass in einer Halbbrücke beide Halbleiterschaltelemente nicht mehr geschlossen werden können, sämtliche noch funktionsfähige Halbleiterschaltelemente der Vollbrückenschaltung zu schließen. Auf diese Weise kann ein gegebenenfalls auftretender Lichtbogen an einem defekten Halbleiterschaltelement möglichst rasch zum Erlöschen gebracht werden.[English]
