The invention relates to a method for encoding a signal comprising at least one block of samples to be encoded, the method implementing the following steps in order to encode (10) at least one of the blocks, represented by a set of syntax elements, referred to as current block: - if at least two syntax elements of the set have a different value: • assigning (111) a first value to a first encoding indicator associated with the current block, and • encoding (112) the value of the at least two syntax elements of the set; - otherwise: • assigning (113) a second value, different from the first value, to the first encoding indicator, and • encoding (114) the value of a first syntax element of the set; and - encoding (12) the value of the first encoding indicator associated with the current block.[French]
