The invention relates to an underbody system (2) for a means of transport (1), comprising: an underbody structure (10) having a functional unit (11) for a driving function of the means of transport (1) and having a cover element (12) which forms an underside (10.1) of the underbody structure (10) in order to protect the functional unit (11); and a runner-like protective element (20) which is fastened to the underbody structure (10).
