Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Luftkissenanordnung (5), insbesondere für eine Massagefunktion, eines Sitzes (4), insbesondere Fahrzeugsitzes, mit einer Vielzahl von, insbesondere drei, Rückenlehnen-Luftkissen (1,2,3), die jeweils in einer Rückenlehne (7) des Sitzes (4) angeordnet und insbesondere einem unteren Rückenbereich der Rückenlehne (7) zugeordnet sind, wobei die Luftkissen (1,2,3) entlang einer Längsmittelachse (9) der Rückenlehne (7) übereinander angeordnet sind, und wobei ausgewählte Luftkissen (1,2,3) der genannten Luftkissen (1,2,3) zur Ausführung der Massagefunktion in jeweils einem Massageschritt mit Luft beaufschlagt und/oder entleert werden.
