Die Erfindung betrifft ein Seitenspiegelersatz-Display für ein Fahrzeug, umfassend: - einen Bildgeber zur Erzeugung eines Anzeigeinhalts zum Ersetzen eines Seitenspiegels des Fahrzeugs und eines diesen Anzeigeinhalt transportierenden Lichtstrahlenbündels; - eine Deckscheibe oder -Schicht, die zum Durchlässen des Lichtstrahlenbündels und zur Anordnung in einem dem Fahrer zugewandten Oberflächenabschnitt einer Türverkleidung, A-Säule oder Instrumententafel ausgebildet ist; und - eine im Strahlengang zwischen dem Bildgeber und der Deckscheibe oder -Schicht angeordnete und derart ausgebildete Abbildungsoptik, dass das Lichtstrahlenbündel die Deckscheibe oder -Schicht direkt in Richtung einer für die Augen des Fahrers vorbestimmten Eyebox verlässt und der Anzeigeinhalt auf ein zwischen der Eyebox und der Deckscheibe oder -Schicht in der Luft schwebendes reales Bild abgebildet wird, das dazu ausgelegt ist, dem Fahrer einen Blick in den Seitenspiegel zu ersetzen.[English]
