A 3-hydroxybutyric acid/3-hydroxybutyrate composition, comprising a non-racemic mixture of R-3-hydroxybutyric acid/R-3-hydroxybutyrate of which the enantiomeric excess is greater than 50% and less than 100% and S-3-hydroxybutyric acid/S-3-hydroxybutyrate of which the enantiomeric excess is less than 50% and greater than 0%, or comprising a non-racemic mixture of S-3-hydroxybutyric acid/S-3-hydroxybutyrate of which the enantiomeric excess is greater than 50% and less than 100% and R-3-hydroxybutyric acid/R-3-hydroxybutyrate of which the enantiomeric excess is less than 50% and greater than 0%, the salt comprising sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. The composition effectively solves acid/salt load and gastrointestinal side effects associated with existing products, offers excellent taste comfort and a good ketogenic effect, and can better serve as a dietary or nutritional supplement.[French]
