An expandable/contractable vehicle and a use method therefor. The expandable/contractable vehicle comprises an expandable/contractable vehicle cabin (10), a fluid storage device, and an injection device; the expandable/contractable vehicle cabin (10) comprises a first vehicle cabin body (101), a second vehicle cabin body (102), and a vehicle cabin expansion/contraction portion (103); the fluid storage device is used for storing a shear thickening material; the injection device is separately connected to the fluid storage device and the vehicle cabin expansion/contraction portion (103), and is used for: when an inner core (111) in the vehicle cabin expansion/contraction portion (103) extends out of a housing (110), injecting the shear thickening material in the fluid storage device into a cavity between the housing (110) and the inner core (111), and when the inner core (111) retracts into the housing (110), withdrawing the shear thickening material from the sealed cavity back into the fluid storage device. The use method comprises: storing a shear thickening material in the fluid storage device; when the expandable/contractable vehicle cabin (10) is expanded, forming a sealed cavity in a sealed expansion/contraction plate (104) of the vehicle cabin expansion/contraction portion (103) or increasing the volume of the cavity; and the injection device injecting the shear thickening material in the fluid storage device into the sealed cavity. The expandable/contractable vehicle and the use method therefor allow both the length and width of the vehicle to be adjusted without reducing the rigidity and impact resistance of the vehicle, thereby enhancing user experience of the vehicle and maintaining vehicle safety.[French]
