Abstract[English] An improved process for leaching copper from copper sulphide containing feed materials by leaching in one or more acidic sulphate liquors containing ferric iron and ferrous iron where the ferric and ferrous iron concentrations are controlled to give ferric/ferrous ratios that target the copper sulphide mineralogy in the material being leached such that maximum copper extraction is achieved.[French] L'invention concerne un procédé amélioré de lixiviation de cuivre à partir de matériaux d'alimentation contenant du sulfure de cuivre par lixiviation dans une ou plusieurs liqueurs de sulfate acide contenant du fer ferrique et du fer ferreux, les concentrations de fer ferrique et ferreux étant commandées pour donner des rapports ferriques/ferreux qui ciblent la minéralogie de sulfure de cuivre dans le matériau lixivié de telle sorte qu'une extraction de cuivre maximale est obtenue.
