Abstract[English]
A connector for connecting a post to another structural component comprises: a base portion; a first and second sleeve portion extending from the base portion, each adapted to extend in use part of the way around an exterior of an end region of the post, such that together the first and second sleeve portions are adapted and dimensioned to be substantially complementary to and substantially surround the exterior of the end region of the post; each of the sleeve portions having a first edge and a second edge at its respective ends; a first edge of the first sleeve portion and a first edge of the second sleeve portion defining a first gap, and a second edge of the first sleeve portion and a second edge of the second sleeve portion defining a second gap; the first and second gap each adapted to, in use, accommodate at least one weld to connect the post and one or both of the two edge portions that define the respective gap.[French]
